Parallax

The "Third" Dimension

By using the camera and "3D" transforms in After Effects, I was tasked with creating an animation that integrates parallax. The minimum time duration was 10 seconds. As you may have noticed by now, the projects I did during my college days allowed  a lot of creative freedom in terms of theme. It focused on a specific mechanics within After Effects.

Layers

Z - Space + Camera

By separating elements into layers and scaling them based on their distance from the camera, I was able to achieve a parallax effect. Parallax is a technique used to give a sense of depth based on the speed of objects moving relative to the viewer.  An important critique from my professor was that the parallax effect would be more prominent if the animation didn't stop.
